WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump held a high-level meeting with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan on Thursday, signaling a collaborative effort to develop key recommendations on technology and the economy. The meeting, which also included Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, points to a focused initiative on strengthening the nation’s position in the critical semiconductor industry.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, President Trump described the discussion as “very interesting” and expressed high regard for the Intel chief. He praised Tan’s “success and rise” as “an amazing story,” setting a positive and constructive tone for the engagement.

The meeting is set to be the start of a swift and focused policy development process. The President has tasked his cabinet members and the Intel CEO with continuing their discussions and delivering actionable suggestions in the near future.

“Mr. Tan and my Cabinet members are going to spend time together, and bring suggestions to me during the next week,” President Trump wrote in his post.

The inclusion of the Commerce and Treasury Secretaries underscores the strategic importance of the talks, linking Intel’s role as a leading American technology firm directly to national economic policy and trade.
