Kazakhstan Economy Surges 6.2% in H1 2025, Marking Fastest Growth in Over a Decade

ECONOMY & FINANCE | Kazakhstan’s economy expanded by a robust 6.2% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, marking its fastest pace of growth since 2011 and signaling a significant acceleration in economic activity. The impressive performance, which climbed from a 5.6% growth rate in the first quarter, was driven by broad-based strength across both industrial and service sectors.

The goods-producing sector served as a primary engine of this expansion, rising by a strong 8.0%. The construction industry was a standout performer, surging by an exceptional 18.4%. The vital mining sector also showed strong momentum, growing by 8.4%, while manufacturing contributed with a solid 5.5% increase.

Meanwhile, the services sector also demonstrated healthy expansion, growing by 5.2%. The transport and assembly category posted remarkable growth of 22.7%, highlighting a major area of economic dynamism. This was supported by solid gains in wholesale and retail trade (8.4%), education (2.5%), financial and insurance activities (1.7%), and real estate services (1.4%).

The balanced performance across both key sectors paints a picture of a resilient and diversifying economic landscape for the Central Asian nation as it moves through 2025.
